An Entry Table: Friday Update
This week was a whirlwind. I took a table which was still just parts, assembled it, made drawers, completed all the final fitment, sanded, and finished the entry table and I think this is one of my finest projects yet.
It’s hard to believe its already done. It seems like I just finished the coffee table and sofa table and now here’s another project done, and a complicated one at that.
Adding moving parts to furniture ups the complexity, but installing hinges or drawer slides aren’t too difficult. The trick with hardware is to get everything lined up, but they generally come with instructions.
This project had no instructions as I made the drawer “hardware” myself.
These drawers were new for me. I’ll go into detail how I made them in another post, but the short version is the sides of the drawers curve outward and then ride on a wooden rail with a matching curve.
But my favorite detail of this whole project is the grain matched drawer fronts and the way they flair into the legs.
I have lots more to say about this table, but I’m exhausted and will share more next week.
