Starting Something

I started this website 6 months ago, which both feels like ages ago and like it was just yesterday. My original intent behind the site was to create a place to showcase my work. I wanted to build a portfolio for clients to see what I have built so they can get an idea of what I can build for them to kickstart a conversation. I still want that, but why not do more since I have a website? I took the leap to create it in the first place, why not put some more effort into it beyond uploading some photos every once and a while.

So I figured I would use this space to start a blog. Right now I am hardly beyond a hobbyist woodworker who has had the fortune of selling a few projects. Sure it’s taken me a lot of work to even get to this point. I’ve had beginner projects, failed projects, projects I look back on that I know I need to rebuild, and also projects that I’m really proud of and would love to share. I will share the cool stuff I build, the failures along the way, the methods I use, and my thought process . Maybe it’ll end up being just for me to look back on one day, or I’ll get a few readers along the way who are inspired to pick up a saw and hammer to make something. Either way I’ll be happy.

So here it is, my first blog post. It’s not much, but it’s a start.
